Music Generation Galway County to launch Music Hubs in Ballinasloe and Clifden!

From September, children and young people in Galway County will have access to two new Music Hubs – one in the East of the county and one in the West! The music hubs, which will be based in Ballinasloe and Clifden, will offer affordable weekly music lessons to ages 6 to 18 delivered by Music Generation Galway County’s talented and highly-trained Musician Educators.

The Music Hubs will be a creative space where young people can come to play together, develop their musical talents and perform! A wide range of musical activities will be available. Instrumental tuition options include drumkit, guitar, violin, cello and flute as well as larger ensemble music-making with Samba Drumming, Réalta Vocal Ensemble and Ukulele Orchestra. Sessions are priced at €8 per week for small group instrumental tuition and €5 per week for the larger ensemble activities.

There are huge benefits to learning and playing music. As well as it being fun for young people to play with their peers, overall wellbeing is improved, self-esteem increases, and participating in musical groups promotes friendships and a sense of belonging.

No instrument? No problem! Music Generation Galway County has a musical instrument bank with a large range of instruments available for hire at very reasonable rates. Music Generation Galway County’s goal is to develop performance music provision county-wide and to maximise local and community involvement in its programmes. The organisation works in close partnership with many local partners including Galway County Council to create new opportunities for children and young people to engage in music in inspiring ways.

Registration for the hubs is now open! To register contact Music Generation Galway County: [email protected] / 091 874557. Places are limited.
